Using VMware Workstation Help

The VMware^® Workstation help provides quick reference information for Workstation settings and common tasks.

Using This Help System

When you click Help in a Workstation dialog box, the Help window opens and a context-sensitive help topic appears in the right pane. To see all of the help topics, select Help > Help Topics on a Windows host system or Help > Contents on a Linux host system.

This help system uses the features of your Web browser as well as some additional capabilities to help you access product information. You can search the help using terms, phrases, and wildcards with the following limitations:

■	Searches for multiple terms retrieve only topics that include all the search terms.

■	You cannot use Boolean operators such as AND, OR, and NOT in your searches.

■	Getting Started with VMware Workstation and Using VMware Workstation contain complete information about installing, configuring, and using Workstation and creating virtual machines.

■	Installing and Configuring VMware Tools contains complete information about using VMware Tools.

■	The VMware Guest Operating System Installation Guide contains information about installing specific guest operating systems.

■	The online VMware Compatibility Guide lists the supported host and guest operating systems for Workstation.
